Uncertainty Indices for Spain

We are pleased to host two measures of Economic Policy Uncertainty and related concepts for Spain that were developed by two independent research teams:

• Scott R. Baker, Nicholas Bloom, and Steven Davis developed an index of EPU for Spain as one component of their European EPU Index.
• The team of Corinna Ghirelli, Javier J. Pérez and Alberto Urtasun also constructed a newspaper-based index of Economic Policy Uncertainty for Spain that runs from January 1997 to the present.

Both teams follow the newspaper-based methods in "Measuring Economic Policy Uncertainty" by Scott R. Baker, Nicholas Bloom and Steven J. Davis.
